Gentle washing, avoid high temperature
Low-melting-point polyester fiber has a low melting point, usually below 110°C, which is much lower than ordinary polyester fiber. Therefore, when washing clothes or household items, high-temperature water or high-temperature mode of the dryer should be avoided. It is recommended to use warm water of 30°C-40°C for hand washing or machine washing, and choose the gentle mode to reduce fiber damage. In addition, avoid soaking for a long time to avoid damage to the fiber structure.
Avoid friction and contact with sharp objects
The surface of low-melting-point polyester fiber is relatively soft and is prone to pilling or wear due to friction. In daily use, try to avoid contact with rough surfaces or sharp objects, such as metal zippers, buttons, etc. When washing, it is recommended to turn the clothes inside out and put them in the laundry bag to reduce friction with other clothes. For household items, such as carpets or curtains, regular vacuuming can effectively reduce fiber wear.
Dry in a cool and ventilated place
Since low-melting polyester fibers are sensitive to high temperatures, drying or exposure to the sun may cause the fibers to soften or even melt. It is recommended to lay them flat or hang them in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally after washing, avoiding direct sunlight. If you need to use a dryer, you should choose a low-temperature mode and shorten the drying time.
Regular inspection and maintenance
For long-term use of low-melting polyester fiber products, such as carpets or furniture fabrics, it is recommended to regularly check for pilling, deformation, or loose bonding. If problems are found, gently trim the pilling part or use a low-temperature iron for light ironing (a cloth is required to prevent direct contact).
