Low-melting polyester fiber, as a functional textile raw material, is widely used in clothing, home textiles and industrial fields. Its unique physical and chemical properties require special attention during logistics transportation and storage to ensure product quality and supply chain efficiency.
From the perspective of physical properties, the melting point of low-melting polyester fiber is usually between 80℃ and 130℃, which is much lower than the 250℃ to 260℃ of ordinary polyester fiber. This property makes it easier to melt and bond during processing, but it also puts higher requirements on the logistics environment. During transportation, if the ambient temperature is too high, the fiber may soften locally or even stick together, affecting subsequent use. Therefore, it is recommended to use insulated packaging or constant temperature transportation equipment when transporting in hot seasons or tropical areas to ensure that the goods are within a suitable temperature range.
In addition, low-melting polyester fiber has low hygroscopicity, but long-term storage in a humid environment may still affect its performance. After the fiber absorbs moisture, it may cause fluctuations in the melting temperature, which in turn affects the processing stability. Therefore, in the logistics process, long-term open-air stacking should be avoided. It is recommended to use moisture-proof packaging materials and control humidity in the storage process to maintain the physical stability of the fiber.
From the chemical property point of view, low-melting polyester fiber is sensitive to light and oxidation. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays may cause fiber degradation, affecting its strength and melting properties. Therefore, during transportation, light-shielding packaging or container transportation should be used to reduce the impact of light. At the same time, avoid mixing with strong oxidants or chemically corrosive substances to prevent chemical reactions in the fiber.
In logistics operations, the lightweight characteristics of low-melting polyester fiber are conducive to reducing transportation costs, but its easy adhesion requires packaging design to be easy to load, unload and sort. It is recommended to use sealed bags or rolls to reduce direct contact between fibers and avoid adhesion problems during transportation.
